原子物理学形成历史有两个特色:一是以光谱学为理论综合的契机和主线; 二是经历了半经典半量子的理论过渡。这两个特色反映了科学认识的两个规律:(1)具有丰富而精密的信息,并形成经验定律的某种经验材料,在一门学科的形成中具有“催化”的作用; (2)新学科的建成往往要经历一个过渡阶段,因而相应的产生过渡性的理论形式。
